Carlow Garden Festival: Saturday 27th July - Monday 5th August

Sunday July 28th - Visit the gardens at Burtown in the company of Seamus O’Brien curator of Kilmacurragh Botanical Gardens. This informative walk and talk will focus on plant identification, cultivation, pests / diseases and the use of plants in garden design. The walk starts at 12.00pm and entrance costs €10.00

For the duration of the Carlow Garden festival we are inviting artists to come and set up their easels and paint in the gardens of Burtown. Lesley Fennell who is a renowned artist in her own right will be walking the gardens to offer advice on technique and use of colour. Lesley is an experienced art teacher and very accomplished portrait, still life and landscape painter.

Sculpture in the Meadow Walks

Stroll through the long meadow grasses and wild flowers and view large stone sculptures by Eileen Mac Donagh, Catherine Greene, Sasha Sykes of Farm 21 and Shane Jackson.
