**Neil Porteous at Burtown House and Gardens
Myanmar to Mount Stewart ** In 2016, Neil Porteous explored two regions of Myanmar (Burma) and details his fascinating experiences from his trip. Neil presents details of the famed botanist and plant explorer Frank Kingdon Ward’s collection at Mount Stewart. Kingdon Ward also travelled to Burma on plant hunting expeditions.
We are excited to open our New Green Barn which we have been working on for the last six months or longer when you take in all the hurdles. Serving the freshest possible organic produce straight from our garden that morning, or from local organic beef and poultry farmers, we strive to serve you the best seasonal produce which reflects in our changing menus. We love to combine, taste, texture and colours and believe in unfussy, unpretentious food, letting our produce be the strength in what you eat.
The first of our new sculptures in the meadow walks arrived in June - Eileen MacDonagh’s five large stone sculptures look amazing in the long grasses of the meadow walks. We also have sculpture by Sasha Sykes of Farm 21, Catherine Greene and David King.
