July 2015 - Date for the diary!
Neil Porteous, head gardener at Mount Stewart, Co. Down, and head of all National Trust gardens in Northern Ireland, will be here at Burtown House and Gardens, to walk around the garden and talk about the plants, as part of the Carlow Gardens Festival, on Friday 31st July at 11.30am. Neil has been in charge of the restoration and replanting of the wonderful gardens at Mount Stewart, which were originally laid out by Lady Edith Londonderry.Please come and join us for what promises to be an interesting and informative morning, with a knowledgeable and generous speaker. Roy Lancaster will be in Altamont in the afternoon, so it should be a good day out! The cafe will be open for coffee, cakes, and homemade lunches. It is advisable to book for lunch.
