This charming five bedroom 1970’s farmhouse is the first of James and Joanna’s projects in Portugal. Using furniture from a previous home in Prague they have transformed this farmhouse into a collection of eclectic private and public spaces to be enjoyed with family or friends in the gorgeous Algarve climate. With large gardens, a swimming pool and natural pond it is just 10 minutes from the sea and 15 from the airport, you can leave Dublin at 7am and be there by 11am.

There are both interior and exterior living spaces for you to enjoy. Our interior living room is a mix of the classic and the quirky creating a room that is both visually interesting, eclectic and super comfy. The log burning fire, accent lamps, blue tooth enabled stereo system and a selection of books and magazines to suit all tastes creates a feeling of a home away from home helping you to relax and unwind. The living room opens on to a garden terrace with further sitting and dining areas, rolling gardens and orchards lead to the pool.

The living rooms leads to the dining room for more formal dining, which leads to a farmhouse style kitchen, or you can dine on one of the terraces or down by the pool, there are many options and facilities in place including an annex by the pool.

The farmhouse has four double bedrooms and one twin room. All our bedrooms on the ground floor open on to the garden and our first floor bedrooms open up on to a large terrace which overlooks the gardens and pool. 1st floor bedrooms are ensuite, as is one downstairs with 2 bedrooms sharing a 4th bathroom. All bedrooms are light and spacious decorated with antique and eclectic furniture, large plants, books and magazines.

Our low season (Jan - May, Oct - Dec) base price is €400 inc. up to 4 guests, each extra adult or child is priced at €60 per person. Our high season (June - Sept) base price is €480 inc. up to 4 guests, each extra adult or child is priced at €60 per person.

The Farmhouse is surrounded by tall trees, rolling lawns and a natural pond and separate swimming pool, an orchard with citrus, avocado and papaya. There is a rose garden at the front entrance and and more hidden gardens around the property. The gardens have started a renovation project and we are excited to see how they respond over the comings years.

Food

This area of the algarve is one of the best for exciting food, with farmers markets in neighbouring towns, great fishing villages, excellent local produce, olive oils, fruits and wines : they say if you plant a seed in the Algarve it will grow. For those adventurous culinary souls there is no shortage of Michelin starred restaurants surrounding this area, not to mention cool beach side bars to more secluded hillside offerings. We supply all that we know for you to enjoy in our ‘black book’ of recommendations.

The local town of Almancil is just a few minutes away where you will find numerous shops, farmers markets and garden centres. There are fantastic restaurants in the town to suit casual and fine dining including three Michelin star restaurants. Almancil has a coastline of more than 12km, where you can relax in the sea or on the fine, white sands. All beaches have blue flag signal that are safe for both children and adults. Our property is located 15 minutes from Faro Airport and 10 minutes from the beach.
