James & Joanna
Owners James and Joanna, who also work as a photographer, designer and cook, have travelled the world extensively and are hands on in overseeing the outcomes of their vision and the day to day running of Burtown. They have both been involved in the planning and execution of many events and are always on hand to offer advice.
Event Styling
The style of our interior and exterior spaces throughout Burtown is constantly evolving. We love to dig, renovate and decorate, keeping things fresh, contemporary and inspired, but with a strong eye on sustainability and our heritage. Blurring the lines of exterior and interior spaces creates a seamless continuity giving your event a feeling of harmony and togetherness.
Heritage Gardens
Our Heritage Gardens are the perfect backdrop for your event. There are several exterior spaces around the property that lend themselves to events and gatherings where you can utilise the garden’s natural beauty as part of your event’s aesthetic. The gardens at Burtown are made up of several areas, including large herbaceous borders, shrubberies, a rock garden, a yew walk divided by a pergola, a sundial garden, a walled kitchen garden, an old orchard, a more formal stable yard garden and a large woodland garden surrounded on all sides by water. There are over 12 acres of gardens, park and woodlands along with 180 acres of farmland that is currently being developed into parkland.
